The Italian wedding cookie cake is an old tradition that originated from the Naples area of Italy. The cookie cake is stacked with different cookies that are chosen by you for your event.
The cake is eaten by simply picking up cookies from the top down. The cookie cake doesn’t fall apart because it is held together with powdered sugar icing.
After the event, such as a wedding, family and friends are traditionally welcomed to take cookies home to have with their morning coffee or tea the next day. As they eat the cookies they think of the fun they had the night before, and in the case of a wedding, contemplate the new life of the happy couple.
